Ideal spot to admire the beauties of Tuscany and nearby Umbria. Southern Chianti is known as one of the worlds outstanding areas of natural beauty for good reasons. Amongst the rolling hills of olive trees and grape vines, between the hilltop towns and ancient towers, you will find the Locanda. You can witness the beauty of this land from a bike or horse tour, you can walk the country tracks or drive the winding roads.

Piazze, and the neighbouring towns have so much to offer, from the world famous baths at San Casciano dei Bagni, to the breathtaking hilltop settlements of Montepulciano and Città della Pieve with its Pietro Perugino frescos. The local life is in full swing, as yet unaffected by tourism, and festivals celebrating food, wine and local history are thrown nearly every summer weekend.

Not to be missed are Cetona and San Casciano dei Bagni… ancient hilltop town with stunning views. The streets are mazelike, offering occasional glimpses of the entire valley. In San Casciano, guests can visit the world famous Fonteverde baths at a discount rate.

Trips within 1 hour to Montepulciano, Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, Arezzo, Siena, Orvieto, Perugia, Assisi and the list goes on! For longer trips one can go to Florence or Rome which are 1,5 hours away. If you like to do some boating and be near the water, explore the area around Lago di Bolsena. The Locanda Toscanini truly is in the middle of everything. There is also a fashion outlet store nearby where one can purchase the top brands of Italian fashion at outlet prices. If you are into more rural retail then there are traditional ceramic and gastronomic shops aplenty.
